To Color? or not to Color? Some thoughts

I have often heard it said that Scratchboard, being a black and white medium, should be left that way.
Certainly there are times where the composition calls for the drama of stark black and white, but I'm here to show you what a bit of difference some color can make.
But I'm going to try to open your mind to the addition of color and the changes that it can make. Take an amazing Scratchboard artwork - and make it BETTER!
First, a Peacock. Peacocks are one of the brightest birds in existance! Why leave them black?
 
Color can be part of the composition - can add mood to the piece.
