I tweaked the contrast on the greyscale image to get more darks

I transferred the image to the scratchboard using white Saral transfer paper (you can see some faint lines in the black areas). And I've started scratching. . .

I used a black Micron pen to add the tips of the stamens in the center of the rose . . . and it’s finished:

It probably took 3 hours to complete this drawing.
I used black scratchboard that’s a card stock weight – once the black is scratched to white, there’s no more scratching that can be done. I can add back some black with a pen, but I have to be very careful not to scratch too much in the beginning. I use a #16 X-acto blade to scratch.
